Frequently Asked Questions
What currency are the prices?
All prices are listed in USD.
How much does shipping cost?
Standard shipping without tracking is $5 per order, plus $2 for each poster.
We also offer Registered Airmail, or International Parcels, at an additional cost (around a couple of dollars extra). This cost varies by country so please review shipping options during checkout.
Where do you ship to?
We ship worldwide. So far to over 60 countries around the world and counting. Check out our gallery to see some of our customers!
How long does shipping take?
Shipping takes around 14 days to most destinations in the US and EU. Asia-pacific is usually faster. Other destinations may vary, so we kindly ask customers wait 28 days before reporting missing posters, and to cover any unforeseen delays on the way.
How are posters shipped?
Posters are wrapped and shipped in a 57cm (~23”) poster tube and sent by Airmail, Registered Airmail, or International Parcels (depending on your choice at checkout). Each of these options is handled by your country’s national postal service.
Due to the size of the tubes they’re unlikely to fit in your mailbox. When you are a poster make sure to keep an eye for a delivery in the coming weeks as the the post office might leave a note for you to arrange collection or suitable delivery time.
How is the list ordered?
Our list is based on the official list of common characters suggested by the Chinese MOE. We have cross referenced this list with a bunch of other frequency lists available online (usually produced by analyzing popular texts and online chats). We also took into account HSK characters, and currently our First 1000 poster covers all the characters used in level 1-4 of HSK. We then went through the list by hand to ensure there were no mistakes and choose the correct pinyin, Zhuyin and keyword for each character.
The list is ordered by frequency on our posters, however our reference sheets also provide an index of the list in pinyin alphabetical order.
Can I frame my posters?
Yes, we try our best to design for standard print sizes such as 50cm x 70cm (approx. 19.6 x 27.5″) so that finding a frame shouldn't be difficult. A lot of our product shots were taken using frames from Ikea - their frames change from time to time so check what they have in your local store.
What if my poster is damaged or doesn't arrive?
This happens from time to time – but don’t worry. Just contact us with your order number and we’ll get a replacement out to you.
Where are you located?
Mandarin Poster is located in the south of Taiwan, in sunny Kaohsiung to be exact.
Do you have a store?
We don’t have a store, but if you live in Kaohsiung, or are passing through, we’re usually happy to meet up if you want to collect your posters in person. Just send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a time.
